Something a bit different on the blog today! Most of the family shoots I do are with little kids or babies, so it’s so refreshing to meet parents with teenagers who also want family photographs. Daughter Kirsty is just about to head off to University, so it was a great opportunity to record their family before that big event! We started off with some individual shots around the boathouse in Prehen, just a couple of minutes from my childhood home. Here are a few of my favourite shots…
It was pretty windy down by the river, but luckily the rain held off until (almost) the end of the photoshoot. It’s quite difficult to get a dog to look at the camera when there’s a jet ski whizzing about behind me! Much more interesting, and dog Harvey was totally engrossed : )
Things rarely go to plan when there are animals involved, but sometimes that gives you the best shots. I love this one of Harvey dragging Kirsty along as he made a break for it!
Harvey really was the star of the shoot, he’s not been very well recently but he was a total star, posing perfectly for me.
The paths around the playing fields in Prehen are really lovely at this time of year, perfect for a photowalk. I definitely don’t think I appreciated these places enough when I was a child flying through on my bike! I know that Kirsty and Dylan have spent a lot of time around here too, so they couldn’t have picked a better location.
