Oooh I am excited about this one! All Debbie and Dave had to do was mention the words Larchfield Estate and I knew I would absolutely love their wedding. Larchfield is one of my favourite wedding venues in Northern Ireland, a real photographer’s dream, and my excitement only increased after seeing how relaxed and comfortable Debbie and Dave were in front of the camera at their engagement session last month.
When I arrived at Debbie’s parents’ house, the preparations were already in full swing (6 bridesmaids means an early start!) and the sun was splitting the sky. For a brief while we thought that we might even be able to have an outdoor ceremony, but with showers forecast it was just a bit too risky. Having the ceremony inside turned out to be an inspired decision because the heavens opened just as Debbie arrived at Larchfield – I don’t think the guests would have appreciated sitting in the gardens in a torrential downpour! The rest of the afternoon was spent dodging the rain, but nothing could put a dampener on the celebrations. Debbie looked absolutely gorgeous, her dress was stunning, and there were wall-to-wall smiles all day.
Massive thanks to Debbie and Dave for asking me to be a part of their fantastic wedding, to my second shooter Colin for being a much appreciated second pair of eyes, and to all of the guests and family members at the wedding who were so lovely and friendly all day. I hope you enjoy looking through the story of a beautiful, rainy but very happy wedding day, I certainly enjoyed creating it : )
