Northern Ireland baby photography: Harry {11 weeks}

Now that wedding photography season is in full swing, it’s lovely to have a little change of scenery now and again, and there’s no better way to do that than by photographing a beautiful baby! Little Harry is 11 weeks old, which is often regarded by baby photographers as a bit of an ‘in-between’ stage – not quite newborn, not yet sitting up – but I think babies are also at their cutest around that age! Harry definitely proved my theory the minute he looked at me with those big blue eyes.

As Harry’s mum put it, there was a little bit of ‘grumpiness’ in this session, but modelling is hard work and I think we can forgive him when he gives us photos as cute as these.  Here are a few of my favourites taken around his beautiful new bedroom : )

Oh I love the photos, definitely don’t see no grumpy boy in these pictures. The cutest wee boy, just makes me smile looking at these :-)
And yes Gillian see what u mean about the 8th picture down, that’s the look that will hide all the devilment when he’s growing up! Lol xxx

Lauren I am in love with these wee photos, you’ve just captured Harry so beautifully. Laughing at the 8th pic down as he just look so suspicious!! Thank you so much :) x

Northern Ireland baby photography: Violet {7 months}

One of the best things about being a family photographer is watching families change and grow, and documenting all of the important milestones in their lives. Last autumn I met little Violet for the first time, when I took her newborn photographs, so I was very pleased to visit her again this week for some baby photos. Of course being Easter week she was sporting a seriously cute pair of bunny ears! We then got some natural shots of her playing in her nursery, or maybe more accurately tearing her nursery apart! Here are some highlights of the day : )

Northern Ireland family photography {The Argory} – the Lowe family

Today I was back at one of my most popular family photoshoot locations, the Argory near Dungannon. I can definitely see why it’s such a favourite with families who live nearby, the gardens and grounds are really beautiful, and I always love shooting there. This session was organised mainly to get some portraits of toddler Rosa, to celebrate her recent 2nd birthday, but also to get some nice family shots and a few photos of big sister Lucy and brother Connor.

I have to dash off to England first thing tomorrow morning, so this blog post is a little bit shorter than usual, but I wanted to share some of my favourites before I left. I’m sure you’ll agree that these are three seriously beautiful kids! : )

another beautiful shoot Lauren. Love the one with the little girl with path leading away in the background.

Northern Ireland family photography {Stormont Park, Belfast} – Rafferty & Gracie

It’s been a little while since I’ve been out and about photographing kids, so I was really looking forward to Wednesday’s family photoshoot in Belfast. I started the session, with 1 year old Rafferty and his 2 year old sister Gracie, at home in their beautiful bedroom. Gracie is just about to get her own room, so her mum wanted some photos there before the big move! After a while we went out to the garden, where the kids showed me the amazing boat-shaped sandpit that their dad built – very cool! Finally, we headed off to nearby Stormont Park to play among the trees and get some family photos in the sunshine. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day…

Northern Ireland family photography {Ballyholme Beach, Bangor} – Isaac & Noah

I know I’ve said it before, but Sunday afternoons were just made for family photoshoots. It doesn’t get much better than a bit of a lie in, a nice brunch and a trip to the beach to photograph two very cool little kids. I met brothers Isaac and Noah at Ballyholme Beach in Bangor yesterday afternoon for a really relaxed photoshoot, just strolling along the beach and digging for treasure. Unfortunately we didn’t find any treasure this time (apart from some pebbles!) but we did get some lovely informal family photographs. It’s pretty rare for me to get through a family photography session that includes a two year old without any little huffs or tantrums, so I was really impressed with how Isaac and Noah were perfectly behaved! Here’s a little preview from their session…

beautiful images as usual. I really like your work as there are no gimmicks, just lovely images not over processed for the family memories.
