This Friday I took a lovely morning drive up into the Glens of Antrim (through some very unexpected snow chaos on the motorway!) to meet my latest newborn star, tiny 10 day old Ruairi. Ruairi’s mum Leanne and I worked in the lab together a few years ago, so I was really happy when she asked me to take some newborn photos of her beautiful new son. He was a bit reluctant to sleep for us at first, keeping a watch on what we were up to with his big blue eyes, but he couldn’t fight it for long and was soon fast asleep. Here are a few of my favourites from the session : )

I’m very pleased to introduce this latest newborn to the blog, 6 day old Noah. As a newborn photographer I see a lot of babies, and I always love seeing the variations in their little hairstyles. One of the first things Noah’s parents said to me was that his hair had a life of its own, and they were right! I love how it just sticks up in every direction, it makes him look so cool. It took us a little while (and quite a lot of milk) to get Noah to sleep, but it was definitely worth the wait. Here’s a preview from his photoshoot…

It’s been a busy week on the blog, and there’s more still to come with two engagement shoots over the next few days! But first I’ve got the third of my little newborn models for you. When I arrived at 7 day old Katie’s house she was fast asleep and all ready for her shoot… or so we thought anyway. As soon as we set her down she decided that she’d actually quite like to be awake to keep an eye on what was going on. I think it was about two hours before she decided to sleep again! As with everything in life, the best things are worth waiting for. Here’s a little preview from the photoshoot : )

It’s time for the second of this week’s newborn baby blog posts, I think I’ll be retouching baby skin in my sleep by the end of the week! I always edit newborns with a smile on my face though, who couldn’t when they’re so cute?

At two weeks old, baby Zoe was just on the upper side of the perfect age for newborn photos, but she was still kind enough to sleep a little bit for me. Even when she wasn’t sleeping she was lovely and content, watching me with her beautiful big eyes and flinging her arms all over the place! Here’s a little preview from her photoshoot : )

We’ve got a bit of a newborn photography marathon coming up on the blog!
